Go Bruins, oops, forgot they choked down the stretch this year. Rooting for Tim's Penguins now but really not paying too much attention. Beyond hockey just a casual sports fan.

Die-hard, hometown Pittsburgh fan here, so I'm pulling for the Penguins right now.  Obviously, I'm pleased with the outcome from Game 1! :)

I'm also keeping a wary eye on the Pirates as well; still chasin' the Cubbies this year... ???

When football season rolls around, I'm part of Steelers Nation -- somewhat literally.  Being a Steelers fan is kind-of frowned-upon when living in the middle of Cowboys country (i.e., Texas)... :o  Eh, well; at least I can enjoy the cheerleaders... ;)

Timfitz, being a Steeler's fan in Cowboyland is one thing, but our esteemed governor Chris Christie is a Cowboy's Fan in Giants land, which to my mind is a mortal sin.  At least he roots for the Mets

I think Cowboy fans aren't too sure how to react to me.  They're clearly not pleased when they learn I'm a Steelers fan; but they're also trying to maintain at least the appearance of that cordial Texas hospitality for which they're so well known.  Most times I just get a gentle head shake and a "Tsk, tsk" from them... ::)

I thought the Redskins were the big rivals of the Cowboys...?

It's all a matter of perspective. From a Giant fan's P. O, V., there is no greater pleasure than beating the Cowboys. Frequently the season opener is GIants-'boys.

Living in the Pacific Northwest and being Canadian, I cheer for the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Seattle Seahawks.  For teams remaining in the Stanley Cup, I'm cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins because of Sidney Crosby and how he helped Team Canada win a gold medal in the Olympics with the game winning goal here in Vancouver.  We haven't had too many great moments in Vancouver sports history with the Canucks but that gold medal game and celebration will always be remembered here.  I can't cheer for the Pittsburgh Steelers because of how they beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl with Jerome Bettis in Detroit.  Still painful memories for many people in these parts but it's easy to cheer for Sid the Kid and the legacy of Mario Lemieux is always remembered here.
