Hello from the edge of the forest

Hi everyone.  I want to introduce myself.  I'm Arielle and I'm very new to playing, but have loved guitars all my life.  Until recently I believed that my hands were too small to play and guitars were too big for me to hold.  A new acquaintance of mine set me straight on that misconception, and my first guitar was a Baby Taylor mahogany top that I bought in January of this year.  What a great guitar for my beginner self!  I discovered that I can play that one just fine.  (or as fine as I am able to as I progress in learning!)  I started reading about other Taylors and lo and behold I caught the fever for a GS Mini.  I was a little hesitant to get one, until finally I gave in.  My GS Mini-e rw came this week, and man!  I am so impressed with it, and while the Baby has a good sound, the Mini sounds much better to me.  And my Mini is so pretty!  I'm totally in love with Taylor guitars, and can easily see myself playing for the rest of my life.   8)

Guitars are addictive!

Welcome, Arielle!  That's always how it starts with Taylors:  you buy one and another seems to find its way into your hands.  Then another...  Then another...  We should really call this site "Taylor Guitars Anonymous..." ;)

The GS Mini is really a great little guitar with a big sound.  Lots of folks around these parts to help you with your Taylor addiction -er- journey.

By the way:  what forest are you on the edge of?

I am perched on the edge of the Pisgah National Forest in The High Country of North Carolina.  It's a gorgeous area, with lots of places to hike and clear streams.    :)

Welcome Arielle! You've learned quickly how addictive Taylor guitars are. There's a lot of love here for the various GS Minis. Enjoy your journey, and when you are ready for that 3rd Taylor, just ask. We are a big group of enablers here.

Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.

Welcome, Arielle. You're fortunate to have access to easy playing mini-Taylors. Back in the day, entry level guitars required going to the gym for months to build up the finger strength to fret a simple F chord.  They were better suited to julienning vegetables (especially my Stella Harmony).

It was a $20 Sears Silvertone for me - but I did love that guitar for all the doors it opened for me!

Welcome! Take it slow, it's all about having fun and sustaining your passion.  A fine instrument goes a long way in that regard.
