Bob Taylor video interview - 30 minutes of gold nuggets
« on: January 08, 2015, 12:07:53 AM »
Check out these Acoustic Letter videos - a 3 part series interview of Bob Taylor at the Taylor factory......

"I'm living in the era where we cross the threshold from 'there's all the wood in the world' to 'there's not any more'."

Life According to Bob Taylor: Guitars & Sustainability (1 of 3)

"You know, I'm going to die, it's getting closer all the time, so we can't depend on me forever, it has to go beyond me".

Bob Taylor: The (Surprising) True Potential of Maple (2 of 3)

"It's not all about the guitar player, (sorry guitar players), it's not all about the business owner, it's not all about the forest, and it's not all about the dealer. It's about this one guitar we make every day (we do this hundreds of times a day)... it's about this one guitar serving lots of people."

Bob Taylor's Dream Comes True - The Full Story (3 of 3)

Funny, I never thought about Bob's faith, but I knew he was a Christian after watching these by the language he used and how he talked about things. Interesting!

Have a watch and listen....

"The guitar is the perfect drug because when you play it you're in no pain, and when you put it down, there's no hangover." Paul Reed Smith

i believe that there's an expansion of 'In 10 years, we'll be glad we did' to
'In 40 years, or 50, 60 or 100 years, they'll be glad we did.'

4 words -
'More than a guitar.'
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

Interesting on how Maple is in the works more now than ever. It would be interesting to see and hear one of these guitars. Maybe an all Maple GS Mini in a 2015 FLTD. Might be a bit on the heavy side, tho... :D

there was an engelmann spruce maple veneer holden village GS mini available

looks like the last 150 were sold in a month or less
http://www.taylorguitars.com/content/holden-village-gs-mini

there could be all maple 62X & 66X series models offered
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9yAxKtv8oY

a straight cut natural finish top could resemble spruce, but
then the designation of the GS 12 string models would be, well ...

666ce :o
