What is your experience using a Tonerite
« on: April 28, 2012, 09:12:30 AM »
I just bought one yesterday and I have now placed it on my Taylor 814 CE fall ltd short scale. If you have used one did the effect last? How long did you leave it on the guitar?

Expect a diverse opinion on Tonerite. There are many who feel it somehow violates nature and the only appropriate method to "open up" a guitar is to play it.

IMO, the Tonerite is a tool and I have found it works as adverstised. Especially with new guitars. So count me as a believer when it comes to Tonerite. YMMV

the tone-rite is a play-in device

there have been a couple of other threads here about the tonerite also

there are varying opinions on its effectiveness & just like tone, i believe that it is subjective -
i have no personal opinion, but i do respect the opinions of those that like it & those that don't
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

Note that the OP is asking for experience, not opinions.

I have opinions but no experience.

It's a gimmick, not unlike a Relic Strat.

It's for people who don't want to "put the time in".

There's only one proper way to age a guitar, and it doesn't include one of these things...
No one has ever been on their death-bed wishing they'd been more practical...
