My RT2 arrived yesterday! I got my order in about a day before they stopped taking them, so it's one of the last fully custom builds, at least for now..
Its a very sweet sounding and playing guitar for sure..
I wanted to try a 1 7/8 nut after liking one at a Road Show event, and also got what they call "Presentation Burst", with a mix of dark black edges, reds, then yellow..
Its nicer than my photos allow for, I struggled to get a decent shot at all, with shadows, light, and reflection.. Will get some better ones soon though!

Stunning. That just might be my favorite R.Taylor I've ever seen. And that's saying something because there are some beautiful guitars in this thread!

Wow. Thanx.. there is some ridiculously drool-inducing stuff here, this is one of the the least exotic in the batch..
But I like its simple elegance as well.

I think that's probably why I like it so much. In fact, I'm sure of it. :)

Add to that the fact that I'm a sucker for a great burst and that one is probably the best I've seen from Taylor (the new 700s are very close though!).

Thanks for the kind words, gents ...appreciate that!!  :)

Hey ataylor,

Indeed, that is a gorgeous burst!  I know what you mean about trying to get a good shot.  The real hues on my 12-string are far less "orange" than the pics suggest.  But yours has that very cool vintage vibe burst going on ...like a 60s strat, one of my faves!  The wide nut and RT build clearly make for a fingerstylists dream!  Enjoy that beauty!!

If only that guitar were mine (sigh) -- that one belongs to davwir.

Mine is the Plain Jane 210 on page 10 or 11 in the regular Taylor thread... ;)

You realize what you're doing, don't you?  You're making a lot of people want to buy another Taylor.  We're barely under control as it is!

Yeah, I know that feeling.. All too well..
Edwards ridiculous Quilted Maple earlier in this thread got me drooling...
And it is now costing me another Taylor BTO too...
I don't think control is so easy on these boards!

"Control"??!!!  Reminds me of that T-shirt:
I don't suffer from my insanity ...I enjoy every minute of it!  :)

...OK, ok, now put down the BTO sheet and no one gets hurt ...lol!!!

Oh man. Beautiful guitar. And hats off to the photographer, especially if it's you.

I had forgotten about this thread until I played a 12-fret in sitka/rosewood yesterday. I've been thinking about it ever since and how I might put one together if I did a BTO. I started thinking about a sunburst and then I remembered your R. Taylor! This is pretty near what I was dreaming up for a 12-fret BTO last night.

I really love RTs. I own two. I have a Style 1 and a Style 3. IMO, the best guitars I've played...and I've owned Taylor Martin, Guild, and Larrivee in the past.

Fantastic attention-to-detail and depth of sound that doesn't exist in Taylors.
