I don't have an iRig, but have an Apogee one ...good units to have for silent practice for electric.  But as for acoustic, I'm not sure you get any utility except maybe for easy, on the fly recording.  Use it along with AmpKit or JamUp (or GarageBand, of course) and you're ready to go.
