Hello all, it's been a couple years since I have been active on the UTGF, but I figured when I decided to sell my most beloved Taylor, this would be the place to find the right home/new owner for my "Honey-Orange Bombshell". I'm selling the one pictured in my avatar... :(  MANY more HQ pics available upon request... you've got to see this knockout to appreciate her!

SUPER RARE 30th Anniversary 2004 Taylor Jumbo acoustic/electric guitar, 615ce L-30 Limited Edition (615-CE-L30), collector/heirloom quality. Solid spruce top with solid maple back and sides in a gorgeous Honeyburst finish. S/N - 20040611114. Standard Jumbo body and neck sizes, with Expressions electronics system (AA battery version from 2004). Comes with the standard Taylor Jumbo brown hard case in great shape (the case is not in perfect condition, but very good shape with some surface scrapes/smudges, and some dust, etc). It is ALL ORIGINAL... stock nut, saddle, tuner buttons, strap pin, truss rod cover, etc (I had changed the gold buttons & pin to black, but I have changed them back). This is a complete stock original. It is in 9.5/10 condition as the only defect or damage I can find is 2 tiny dings on the back, in the lower bout - 1 the size of a pencil lead and the other a bit oblong and the size of 3 pencil leads. Frets 1-4 have moderate wear/grooves from 13 years of very occasional playing. SUPER CLEAN, NEAR PERFECT.

NEW PRICE - $2,600 (down from $2,650 down from $2,950) includes the 2004 615ce-L30, brown Taylor hardcase, electronic tuner, capo, a color-matching Taylor orange(ish) suede/leather strap (accessories are a $110 value). Insured shipping shared cost/negotiable? PM me here on the UTGF. I have a factory Taylor box (with top & bottom shipping inserts) that the guitar will come in for safe/secure shipment.

That's what you need to know to buy this guitar, but if you're interested, here's the "story"...

This limited 30th anniversary beauty is the most amazing, gorgeous guitar I have ever seen and the most wonderful, multi-faceted, versatile sounding guitar I have ever played. I was so happy to have been given the opportunity to own it back in 2008. I am the 2nd owner and I purchased it from a fellow Taylor player who I met on the AGF. He babied this guitar and I have done the same... no scratches or damage anywhere that I am aware of, other than the 2 tiny dings mentioned above. She is in near-pristine condition just like I received it almost 9 years ago. This was the 1st Taylor I ever owned, and I have really cherished this stunning instrument. I have continuously kept this 615ce in my 45% RH (relative humidity) office, hanging on the wall just like Taylors are displayed in guitar stores (in a closed room with a large room humidifier running day/night). Denver is awesome, but totally sucks for top-of-the-line expensive solid wood guitars that must be kept at the correct RH, but I have tirelessly maintained the RH of this guitar and it shows.

One cool and unique feature about this guitar is the fact that the lighting you view the guitar in changes the appearance (color) of the wood and the Honeyburst finish more than any other guitar I have seen. The variances in the pics I have posted are real... the guitar is all of these wonderful colors depending on where it is placed in indoor or outdoor lighting. I personally think this is the single most beautiful Taylor guitar ever made, with a grain pattern on the back that is not quite flamed, not quite marbled, not quite curly, but more like an explosion of grain from the middle star outward... unlike any other maple woodgrain ever seen.

Based on all this praise, you may wonder why I am letting this stellar guitar that I love so very much go after all these years, and frankly I am too. It is with great agony that I have come to realize that this guitar is worth more to me converted into cash to be able to help buy my son his first car than it is hanging on the wall, never being played, looking like a museum piece. I have 4 other Taylors (another 615ce, a 315ce, a 214ce, and a GS Mini) so I certainly do not need to keep her just to have the Taylor feel, look or sound in my hands. This gal is the pride of my small collection, but she is the most rare and valuable, so she is the one I must let go of in order to do other responsible things in life.

NOTE: Any bubbles or "imperfections" you might see in the pics on the back or the lower front of the guitar is from a clear "bra" of static cling plastic I applied many years ago to protect the wood surfaces. I have since taken the clear plastic static bra/protectors off both the pickguard and the entire back to check for any damage/dings/defects. I am keeping the clear plastic "screen protectors" for my other 615ce so they will not come on this guitar in this sale.

$3,200 $2,950 $2,650 $2,600 includes the 2004 615ce-L30, brown Taylor hardcase, electronic tuner, capo, a color-matching Taylor orange(ish) suede/leather strap. Insured shipping shared cost/negotiable?. Thanks for looking!

Price drop from $3,200 to $2,950, and now to $2,650, shipping & PayPal fees included (or you can send me a certified check and I will ship the guitar the same day I receive the certified funds... this is how I paid for this guitar 9 years ago, but I understand if this might not be the preferred method of transaction for some/most UTGF'ers. That seller and I had developed a special relationship even though we never met.). Or just be the perfect buyer in Colorado and let's meet and do the deal in person!  ;D

Nobody? I guess this type of extremely rare Taylor is suited for a tiny portion of the overall Taylor (or even UTGF) population. I'm hoping that "1-in-a-thousand" person/buyer is on the UTGF and sees this posting. I'm already below what I ever told myself I'd be willing to sell this guitar for... the discontinued Jumbo body, the honeyburst finish, the once-ever-in-a-lifetime maple grain on the back/sides, the L30 designation with the limited rarity and fall/leaf inlays... I just thought this thing would be highly sought after and would have substantially appreciated after 13 years. But after 2+ weeks on here and 45 days on my local Denver CL and not one serious inquiry, I've fallen back on trying eBay to get her sold. I'd much rather see her go to someone here.  :)

Price dropped again to $2,600. I believe this literal "ONE-of-a-kind" beauty to be worth far more than that, but I have made up my mind to convert this guitar into the cash that will allow me to buy a different asset, so I will sacrifice her. I am lowering prices on the Denver CL listing as well as eBay, and on IG/FB as well. Somebody needs to steal this thing away from me...   :o

+1, someone needs a reality check
Interesting... are you saying the UTGF needs a reality check because no one has snapped up this amazing and underpriced guitar yet? (If so, I agree!) I hope you're not saying that I, as the seller, need a reality check due to my very fair asking price for my L30? Either way, IIWII and it's all good.

It's a beautiful guitar - I love those 30th anniversary Taylors with their leaf motifs. I hope that you can find an alternative way to fund your son's car, because it really is a special instrument from its discontinued jumbo shape to its beautifully quilted maple and artistic inlays. If I were in the market, I'd buy it at that price. In any case, I hope that it works out for you one way or another!
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

This is a sweetheart axe! Regarding the reality check comment, I choose to believe it was to say someone should snap this up...

The market is awful right now. But even if civilization crumbles someone will be able to WAIL on this beauty!

Best on the sale. Or maybe just keep her and enjoy her!!!

Either way, have fun and tune often!

Cheers

Paul

Thanks for several encouraging comments.

I am resigning myself to the fact that the UTGF is a super small group of dedicated folks, all of whom have seen this posting, and none of whom are interested in this specific guitar. IIWII... no biggie. There may be someone in the "outer bands" of this community that hasn't been here in a while and may come wandering back in only to find their dream guitar is sitting here for sale, so I'll keep her posted.  :)
