I bought a Taylor 814ce ltd version and after I went back to home I found two obvious cross grains on the top of this guitar, very ugly. I didn't expect Taylor will use this type of wood for its 800 series product. And I checked many pictures and videos of other products didn't found this situation. Very bad purchase, next time I will go to other brands.

Taylor Acoustic & Electric Guitars / Fret wear after a month of playing?
« Last post by xriddler on February 20, 2018, 10:14:31 PM »
Sooooo I bought a 512ce 2015 model about a month ago. I do play it daily sometimes an hour a day up to two or three. I do see some wear already at my 7th fret and 8th fret of the b string. Is it normal that frets start to wear out that fast? Is the fret wire from Taylor just softer than other brands? My nearest service center is an hour away so I'm kinda worried I have to make a trip up there in a few months time.

Don't worry it will sound just as good as before.

Thanks everybody. Funny thing...was putting on my clear static pickguard on tonight and thought, I need a microfiber cloth so I don't get dirt under this before I put it on. I stand up to get one and my giant iPhone falls out of my pocket on top of the guitar putting 2 dings in it. Good times indeed. I sent the pics to Taylor for a repair quote but if they don't think it has to be repaired I will probably leave it alone for now.

Why all the fuss?..................Duracell "Duralock" re-chargeables!!

9.4 v/170mAh........made in China........readily available in most UK outlets..........hold their charge as well as any "disposable" battery........fit perfectly and ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in guitar performance (T5z-12c); AND..........MUCH..MUCH  kinder for our ever increasingly fu***d up environment!!
Do the planet a favour AND save money!......if it has to be batteries.....USE RE-CHARGEABLES!!

Wow!  Super nice set of Rosewood on that one!  And Engelmann sonically pairs so well with any kind of Rosewood!  Win-win!

That's wildly figured rosewood.  Reminds me a bit of my Brazilian rosewood guitar.  Stuff Martin would have thrown onto the junk heap 60 years ago, selling for $10 or so a set!   Enjoy!!!!!
