NGD & Hello from the mistake on the lake
« on: January 15, 2018, 06:00:33 PM »
Well right next door actually.  Hello everyone and for those of you who have never heard that slogan before that would be Cleveland, Ohio.  Actually I am in Lakewood which is right next door.  As fate would have it my newest guitar was just dropped off a couple of hours ago by FedEx only a few hours after my account here was approved.  A brand new 714ce Western finish and she is a beauty.  I have been playing for less than 1 year and my learning was interrupted 4 times last year by major traumas.  I hope 2018 to be a much less stressful year and that I can make some real headway in my learning.  I purchased a Breedlove Stage Concert (almost a Taylor} earlier in the year and then a Taylor T5 a little later.  I have to say that this 714 is really something.  I demoed a 714 against a 814 and I thought the 714 was a little less bright and full.  I saw a 2017 demo model online and was lured by the price.  I Could not be happier with this guitar.  It is the same size as my Breedlove but sooooo much louder and well balanced.  I think that this particular guitar would stand toe to toe with the 814 or at least pretty close.  I have attached some photos.  To anyone considering this guitar-I highly recommend it,

Marty

Welcome to the forum Marty. Those western burst 700 series are beautiful. The GA's have so much versatility. It's a gorgeous Taylor!

Welcome Marty.  And I'll hope along with you that 2018 is a better year than last year was.  Major traumas we don't need !!!

Lovely guitar.  Enjoy it. keep practicing. And thanks for posting those pics.

Welcome Marty-

That's a beauty! The new 700s are indeed a special breed of rosewood guitars from Taylor. Have a great year with your new friend!
