Hello from Key Largo!!!
« on: November 18, 2017, 10:07:57 PM »
Hey guys,
My name is Tom Simpson. I just found this place. I'm a bar hack down here in The Keys that started off on drums and learned guitar later in life. I now front a Church band every week because we can't find a guitar player so we use the dreaded drum machine. Anyway, i own a Taylor 814CE (2011), Les Paul Standard and an American Strat. I also custom built an 8 string Lapsteel from a kit I ordered.
I'm sure my dumbass will wear you guys out with my questions  ;D
Nice to be here :)

Hi Tom, welcome! You are among friends here. (Even a few who have been known to beat on flat surfaces with sticks of wood for some reason.) My church doesn't have a drummer, either, so I have been thinking of getting a Beat Buddy. Looks like fun, and a bit more sophisticated than the average drum machine, but still. Hope you stick around. I know you'll have lots of good things to add to the conversation.

Welcome, Tom! Pull up a chair, put your feet up, and hang out. We have a wonderful Taylor community here. Please ask away--we have some very knowledgeable guys and gals who should be able to answer your questions. :)

Hey Tom....hello,

Lived about 2 miles from Dadeland and went to Miami Palmetto Sr. HS.  Of course it was 1968 and South Miami was very different.  Key Largo is home to the famous Shell Man, an incredible coral shop...not the oil company.
Great place to hang out and contemplate a few songs...Would love to join you...enjoy!
