Regarding the sub-thread in this topic about insurance and shipping a guitar. According to my contact at FedEx, a newer guitar with an established market value as a used guitar should be insured for its market value as FedEx will pay this amount if the guitar is lost or destroyed. Minor issues are still tough as you need to proved the guitar was packed correctly and not in the damaged condition when shipped. The best way to do this is have a FedEx facility pack it. That said, a 'vintage' or 'collectible' guitar should only be insured for $1k maximum as that is the most FedEx will pay our for an instrument in this category, regardless of its actually market value.
