Jack problems with ES-1

I have a 1983 Taylor 610.
In 2008 I had the factory install a retro-fit ES system (with a mag pickup in the sound hole, instead of under the fret board).
For the last couple years I have been having intermittent problems with the jack making noise. (scratches/pops). It sounds like a classic bad chord problem, but it is the guitar. (I've triple checked cables, amps, other guitars w/ ES etc). This has the 9V battery. I have the problem with both balanced and unbalanced cables. I suspect that it's the bat/switch in the jack, or corrosion on the contacts? 
Has anyone else had a problem like this? And a solution?

I doubt it is a warranty issue 9 years after the fact.

I think (hope) I found the problem. I took out the jack plate, which also has the circuit board that holds the battery. It also has the ground fuse. After wiggling everything else, and no luck, I pulled the fuse & reinserted it a few times. Took it to a gig last night & it never acted up. 
Maybe that was it, maybe not. I do hate intermittent problems...
Nobody else has had a problem with the jack? I guess I'm just lucky!

It would probably still be under warranty if you are the original owner and you had Taylor install the electronics.

Hearing "scratches/pops" are classic dirty/corroded contacts problem, particularly as contacts age over years. One sees it (actually, hears it) on pots, pedals, or whatever in/out jacks all the time.  Wiggling --or even replacing-- that ground fuse would not have cured it from my understanding of that fuse's purpose.

You didn't get that jack noise at your gig, which is good!  But I'd personally not rely on that for the next time.  Take it out and squirt generously with De-Oxit, or a quality contact cleaner (that also leaves a lubed residue to retard future corrosion), then insert the cable and twist, turn, jostle more along with another good squirt.  Reassemble and hopefully that's your real fix.

You are correct - the fuse cannot be the problem. At first glance I thought it was in series with the neg. side of the battery. But it only connects the strings to GND (neg.)
I am now sure that the problem is/was corrosion of the jack GND contacts, which switch the battery neg. on when the plug is inserted. I had to take circuit board out to get at the contacts. So  just spraying Deoxit into the jack or on the plug did not get at those contacts.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I've fix it...
