What's New @ LA Guitar Sales
« on: December 28, 2016, 02:30:23 PM »
Hey folks,

Josh invited me to post in this section so I thought I would start with an introduction.

I started LA Guitar Sales about 16-years ago as a way to manage my personal collection, but it quickly grew in to a thriving business. Today, besides the best selection of Pre-Owned guitars under one roof, we are authorized dealers for Bedell, Breedlove, Blackbird, Cordoba, Eastman, Guild, Journey, Kevin Michael, Larrivee, Lowden, Martin, Rainsong, Santa Cruz, and of course, Taylor. We've been a top 10 online dealer for Taylor the last four years, and we are also a Premier Showroom dealer with more than a hundred guitars on hand at any given time, which you can quickly access on our Taylor Guitars Landing Page:

https://www.laguitarsales.com/index.php/products/guitars/taylor-guitars.html

Our website is loaded with high quality photos of the actual guitars we have for sale, and of course we can order you any guitar we don't have, usually within a few days. Our showroom is open to the public four days a week, and you can reach us seven days a week by phone, or email to place orders, or with any questions you may have.

In this section, I will try to post useful info about anything new and exciting at Taylor, and will try to answer any questions you may have.

So, let's get started.  :)

I think most of your have heard about the new 800 Deluxe models featuring Adirondack bracing, Gotoh tuners, and a new radius-style armrest. We have the 814ce Deluxe and 812ce 12-Fret Deluxe in stock right now.

https://www.laguitarsales.com/index.php/products/guitars/taylor-guitars/taylor-guitars-812ce-12-fret-deluxe-dlx.html

Here's the picture of the 12-Fret:

In addition to the 800 Deluxe, Taylor just started shipping a limited 412ce 12-Fret, featuring figured Ovangkol back and sides, with Ebony binding and Ebony mini wedge, Sitka spruce top, Performance bracing with relief rout, and striped ebony fretboard. Appointments include ebony binding, single-ring abalone rosette, 2mm pearl dot inlays, full-gloss body. It's a lot of guitar for the MAP price. Here it is:

I'll have more for you folks, especially after NAMM, where there will no doubt be some news worthy items to talk about.  ;)

Folks, just a short note to tell you what an awesome guy Ted is. No affiliation, other than friendship and mutual respect.

When I started Charmed Life Picks about a year ago and eventually became a Sponsor at AGF, no one was more supportive or enthusiastic about our fledgling little startup than Ted. He's the real deal and I believe I'm correct in saying L.A. Guitar Sales is one of the largest independent Taylor deals in the U.S. He also does a great job with Martin, Eastman, Santa Cruz all the rest of the best of the best.

If you're shopping for a new Taylor, give him a shot at your business. You won't be disappointed.

Nice to see you over here, Ted.

Charmed Life Picks is endorsed by Eastman Guitars. We are also endorsed by stellar Bluegrass guitarist Brad Davis.

Add my 2 cents as well. I have dealt with Ted on both Taylor and a Rainsong and he Helene are awesome. Came in when they would not otherwise have been open and spent 3 plus hours with me trying differn't carbon fiber guitars. I also got my 522ce and 414ce from them, they are my Favorite local guitar store, and they are almost 3,000 miles away!

Love that mint green .  It reminds me of ice cream, delicious.  I at times regret selling my T5.

Thanks for the kinds words folks! Helene and I are at NAMM right now where Taylor will unveil some new models, and a new Academy Series. Here is Taylors description:

"The Academy Series was designed to be the ideal learning guitar for beginners and developing players. Featured body styles include a 15/16-size Dreadnought (with a 4-3/4-inch body depth), along with Grand Concert steel-string and nylon-string models. Features include layered Sapele back/sides, solid Sitka spruce (steel-string) or Lutz spruce (nylon) top, mahogany armrest, 24-7/8-inch scale length, and 1-11/16-inch (steel-string)
or 1-7/8-inch (nylon) nut width.

Steel-string models are strung with Elixir Phosphor Bronze Light strings; the nylon features D’Addario Pro-Arté Carbon strings. The nylon-string A12-N also features a 12-fret neck design. Other series details include a 3-ring Baltic birch rosette, 4mm Italian acrylic dot fretboard inlays, matte finish, and optional ES-B electronics with built-in preamp and tuner. The guitars ship in a Taylor gig bag."

I had a chance to play these guitars a few weeks ago, and I think they will sell like hot cakes. They are priced like the GS Mini, but you get standard scale, and an armrest, which makes them feel much smaller than they are. In fact, when I picked up the GC version, it actually felt as small as the Mini.

In addition to the Academy series, there is a new GS Mini Bass, which you might have seen already on the Taylor website. I will be posting NAMM photos on our Facebook page throughout the show. Here is the link.

Hope you and Helene had a great time at NAMM. Just curious whether any cool one-off Taylors followed you home...

We did lock in to a gorgeous Maple GA with 900 series Abalone, and the now discontinued parrot fret inlay at the Taylor pre-NAMM custom event. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of it. Besides that, we snagged a metal flake T3B, and a really clean looking T5Z with Adirondack top, but I think these can be duplicated. In fact, Taylor went out of their way this year not display too many guitars that they can't duplicate so as to avoid any conflict. I recall one yea Sammy Ash got there before me and snagged most of the guitars. The following year I made sure to get there before him.  ;)
